From China to Singapore

Lum Chung was born in China in the 1920s.

She married to my Grandfather, Fong Teck Niet at a young age. They left for Singapore to seek a better future. There, they stayed in an offshore island called Pulau Tekong.

Lum Chung gave birth to 10 children, of which 6 are boys, 4 are girls. 1 girl was given away as the family could not support her. She would later be recounciled with the big family.

The family collected rubber saps for a living.

And so, the family came to mainland...
